About Caz
My name is Caasi, or Caz for short. I am Financial Counsellor for an Aboriginal Corporation in north Western Australia AKA The Kimberley. Previously I was employed at the local Indigenous Community Radio Station as a Production Manager. I had worked there for 8 years off and on and decided it was time for a solid change.
For most of my time in radio I was the host of magazine style shows and occasionally, when required, was involved in reporting on news. For two years I hosted a magazine style youth show that was networked around Australia on the National Indigenous Radio Service (NIRS) and Pilbara and Kimberley Aboriginal Media Network (PAKAM).
I consider most of my achievements to be in the education and training of staff and volunteers and that is where most of my enjoyment came from. I have trained and assisted at least half a dozen people to be able to host a networked show. Most often networked in the Pilbara and Kimberley area but on occasions they have been national.
I have been publishing a personal website on the internet since 2000. My first to attempts at a personal website are worth mentioning only to say that they are perfect examples of why most teenagers should not be allowed to blog. In 2005 I purchased the domain name cazaroonie.com and have not looked back since.
I am a gamer and my current machine is a Dell Studio 1555 with a few nice little upgrades. I spend most of my time playing World Of Warcraft and my main has been a Blood Elf Paladin named Kaylien since the launch of The Burning Crusade. My first gaming console was a Sega Master System II which is worth mentioning only to add ALEX THE KIDD FOR THE WIN!
Photography is a passion of mine. Although I may not be great at it, practice makes progress and living where I do provies plenty of opportunities for practice. I shoot with a Canon EOS 400D with either the kit 18-55mm lense or my favourite stubby little 50mm 1.8 which cost a whopping $149. Well worth the money!
I'm a fairly crafty person and have dabbled in beading, lino print, painting and, most recently & currently, knitting.
In 2007 I married my husband, N, and in July 2008 I gave birth to our son, DJ. My husband and I met when he was travelling for work in 2004. Our wedding was organised in three weeks due to our chosen celebrant becoming available after a double hip replacement. He had married my parents nearly 16 years early in the same place.
